Hans Bouman read English linguistics and literature at the University of Utrecht. After taking his MA, he became a freelance journalist and a literary book reviewer for the national daily newspaper De Volkskrant, a job he still holds. Over the last quarter of a century, Bouman has written for a wide variation of Dutch newspapers and magazines, and worked for various broadcasting companies. He also works as a copywriter for advertising agencies and private enterprises.
From 2000 to 2007, Bouman was a member of the editorial board of REIZEN Magazine, the Netherlands’ largest travel magazine, first as deputy editor, later as editor-in-chief.
Hans Bouman has published various books, for both adults and children. He also is the Dutch translator of works by authors such as Paul Theroux, J.G. Ballard and Paul Baily.
